Let's go to the hop: a great list of blog hops.

I've been trying to expand my blog's reach (naturally) and have been learning more about blog hops, which are a great way to get your blog out there and also find other great blogs!  I have learned:

There are tons of blog hops going on out there.

Every day of the week.

So, I found a few sites that each provide comprehensive lists of blog hops and I thought I'd share them with you. This would be a great post to bookmark and reference (hint hint)!

A Helicopter Mom includes a very nice list of blog hops and link ups.

Random Dealz also has a nice list of daily blog hops.

And Blog Hops Everyday is a website whose sole purpose is to list blog hops.

Stardust - Decor & Style has a nice list of linky parties.

All are excellent references, so thank you .   Time to get hopping (too much on the hopping references)?

ps - Do you know the difference between a blog hop and a linky party? I think that a blog hop just lets you post your blog and a linky party requires you to submit a post based on a topic (ie, a craft that you did, a dish you cooked, etc).  If I'm wrong, let me know please!

I never finish anythi...

I came across a new blog today - "Becoming a Finisher." I just love the name of the blog, the term and the goal!

I myself would like to become a "finisher", having suffered from "Lack of Finishing" syndrome from time to time. Let's see, I've started (key word being started):

  • scrapbook while pregnant - stopped after five months
  • keeping a baby book - stopped keeping that after a few months
  • an ongoing "baby memory" file system - kept it diligently for three months
  • photo books for family members - a few pages designed

I've come across this pin on pinterest at least ten different times, but i have never pinned it, even though I think it's kinda funny.

Pinning it feels like I am saying that this is me, identifying myself
as a non-finisher.  And I don't want to be labeled as such.

I want to be a finisher!

In fact, two of my goals this year are in line with this 'finisher' business:

1. To keep this blog
(shhhh - I must admit I have attempted other blogs in the past)

2. To participate in the entire p.52 photo challenge
(shhh - struggling to find a photo for last week's subject)

Now - let me go and finish up some work! :)

Uncluttering.

I really am in the mode to clean & organize.  I'm rereading "the happiness project" (for anyone who has not read it, I highly recommend).   In the book, January is designated for clearing out the physical and mental clutter.  you can't help but be motivated....

So tonight, while surfing online instead of clearing out the clutter (stated motivation questionable?),  I found a blog about uncluttering. it's called - wait for it....unclutterer.com.  There's a good post from a few days ago: "Seven routines and guidelines to live as an unclutterer - no super powers necessary".

Here are the seven guidelines:
click here to read the entire post
  1. Have a place for everything.
  2. When you're finished using something, put it away.
  3. The fewer things you own, the fewer things you have to store, maintain, put away, clean, etc.
  4. Only own things with utility and things that bring you happiness.
  5. One in, out out.
  6. Everyone does his/her part.
  7. Do a little every day.

Pretty straightforward, nothing overly complicated - and it does sound feasible. And I like the term uncluttering.  It sure sounds better than cleaning.  A lot more fun.

Now go forth and unclutter....
(maybe in the morning)
